Oracle enhances Integration across BI Apps, E-BS 12 and Hyperion Essbase

With Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Version 7.9.4, Oracle delivers now new integrations between Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) applications and Oracle E-Business Suite R12, as well as enhanced support across Oracle’s core BI foundation software including Hyperion Essbase.

Built on Oracle BI Suite EE Plus, Oracle BI applications allow organizations to take advantage of the platform’s hot-pluggable capabilities, and, as a result, drive greater insight and leverage a wide range of data sources. One of the big value is that all Oracle Business Intelligence Applications share a modular design and are integrated across application areas, enabling you to start in one area such as sales or finance and add analytic applications to support other functions as business needs demand. If you’re implementing multiple applications, you can benefit from features such as common, conformed dimensions, thereby enabling insight into complex cross-departmental relationships and business issues.

The following list shows the main changes in Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Version 7.9.4:

• New Adapter for Oracle E-Business Suite R12 including pre-built content and adapters for Financials, Human Capital Management, Order Management & Fulfillment, and Supply Chain modules
• Enhanced Universal Adapter to support all available Analytics Applications.
• New Ledger Dimension: This dimension represents Ledger or Set of Books details and can be used to analyze many relevant measures.
• New Company Dimension (Updated): With the introduction of the Ledger dimension to capture Set of Books related detail, the Company dimension represents Legal Entity (in previous releases, the Company dimension represented Set of Books detail).
• 11 new languages
• Order Management and Fulfillment: Support for COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), Margin Analysis of ATO (Assembled To Order) Orders, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and Margin Analysis of PTO (Packaged To Order) Orders.

In addition, Oracle BI Suite EE Plus now natively supports Hyperion Essbase as an optimized data source. With this integration, Hyperion Essbase customers can now leverage the Oracle BI Suite EE Plus enterprise information model to enable pervasive deployment and delivery of Hyperion Essbase information across the enterprise.
